SUMMARY:The IMF-WB in the time of "America First:" Imperialist barriers to sovereign economies and peoples
DESCRIPTION:The IMF-WB in the time of „America First:“ Imperialist barriers to sovereign economies and peoples\n️ 23 April 2026\n 8am New York / 7pm Bangkok / 8pm Manila / 1pm Rabat\n\n❗ Register via Zoom here\nWebinar\nThe April 2026 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group (IMF-World Bank) are being held against a broader context of imperialist war\, wanton violations of people’s rights and international law\, and the continuing decline of the United States (US) in a multipolar world. The US dominance in the IMF-WB’s capital shares and voting power leads to an even more brazen use of IFI policies and programmes to advance the interests of the declining global power. In this overall context\, the road to the Bangkok Annual Meetings in October 2026 requires updating of analyses and expanding interconnected struggles. This webinar will feature speakers on the „Board of Peace\,“ ongoing austerity\, the WB’s view of industrialisation\, and demands from Thailand and Asia.
